BandCamp: organfailurefunk

Organ Failure is a funky Hammond Organ combo from the Triangle, North Carolina. Playing instrumental grooves in the spirit of Soulive, Delvon Lamarr, The Meters, Medeski, Martin & Wood, Jimmy Smith, Jon Scofield, and more....

A product of the downtime created by the pandemic, the group began as an organ trio, later adding Robert Sledge (Surrender Human/Ben Folds Five) on electric bass. With Will Kitchin (Gallus Mag) on drums, the music features the sounds of the Hammond B3 organ played by Matthew Etherington (What Comes Around).

Initially, focusing on funky covers from the 1970s to now, Organ Failure has developed a catalog of original tunes. Their 2022 album, Live At The Pour House, features a range of styles from Chili Cheese Fries (D'Angelo-style dub funk) to Don't Fall Down (Latin jazz groove).

Organ Failure is currently gigging around North Carolina and preparing new material for upcoming studio recordings.
